SeaLink Sponsorship Policy

SeaLink QLD undertakes sponsorships that are in line with their corporate and marketing objectives to increase community awareness of the company's services and to support the Magnetic Island and Palm Island communities. 

In line with this Sealink will favour proposals that will:

  • Benefit a credible charity or organisation
  • Benefit the residents of Magnetic or Palm Island
  • Is an event or activity that promotes or increases visitation to Magnetic Island or Palm Island and enhances the visitor experience

Sealink can offer support in the following ways:

Prizes for Community Fundraising
Fundraising is an integral part of the activities undertaken by many schools, churches, societies, clubs and community organisations, and Sealink can assist with donations of ferry tickets for prizes.  Due to the large number of requests we receive for donations, we regret that we cannot grant every request and we can only respond to successful applicants.

To request a donation for fundraising, complete the Fundraising Prize Application Form.

Travel Sponsorship

Sealink may be able to assist with free or discounted ferry travel for organisations that complete the Travel Sponsorship Application Form  and address all criteria.   Organisations that may be considered for travel sponsorship include but are not limited to:

  • Organisations based on Magnetic Island or Palm Island who travel regularly to Townsville for sport, cultural or educational purposes
  • Organisations who travel regularly to Magnetic Island or Palm Island for the benefit for the community
  • Events being held on Magnetic Island or Palm Island that require assistance to transport event staff

All applications shall be reviewed as per our sponsorship criteria and a response will be provided to the applicant within fifteen working days.  Requests to expedite this process cannot be granted.

Applications that are not submitted on the Travel Sponsorship Application Form will not be considered.

To ensure that we are able to keep our ticket prices affordable for the travelling public, Sealink has limited travel sponsorships available and will not always be able to approve applications that meet the sponsorship criteria. 

Group Travel

Sealink offers discounts for groups of 20 or more passengers travelling to Magnetic Island.  To register your sporting, educational or social group, contact chartersqld@sunferries.com.au.

Youth Groups based on Magnetic Island can apply to travel on the generously discounted Youth Group Rate by completing the Youth Group Rate Application Form.

Sealink is not able to offer financial sponsorship or assist with requests for assistance for individuals.

Promotional Requirements:

Below is a list of promotional opportunities that should be made available to Sealink if possible to organisations successful with obtaining sponsorship:

  • The SeaLink QLD logo is to be included in any publication, flyers, posters, written material or television advertising that is used to promote the sponsored event/organisation. 
  • In the event radio advertising is used to promote the event, verbal acknowledgement of SeaLink's contribution must be included depending on the amount of financial or product sponsorship contributed to the event. 
  • SeaLink QLD sponsorship or involvement is also to be included in media releases regarding the event. 
  • SeaLink QLD is to be given the opportunity to display signage at events that are sponsored by the company as is appropriate. 
  • A link to the SeaLink QLD website is to be included in any websites for events or organisation that the company sponsors.
  • Your organisation must agree to be profiled by SeaLink QLD on our website, customer newsletter and other promotional opportunities to demonstrate our support for the community.
